My work is a combination of a number of different modalities I have learned over the years. If you would like a specific style of massage, please request it when the session starts. If you would like an Aromatherapy Massage session included in any of these modalities below please let us know when booking your session so that I can tailor the essential oils to your needs.
Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue is a focused way of working and treating individual muscles rather than muscle groups as a whole. This type of massage can be particularly beneficial for people with neck and shoulder tension, back pain or sore legs.
Swedish Massage: Swedish massage is a more superficial treatment that focuses on circulation and relaxation. It uses a broader, more general focus.
Sports & Medical Massage: An extension of Swedish massage but with more emphasis and focus on treating specific ailments and pains and/or scar tissue from old injuries. It can also be used to free up scaring and adhesions in the muscles caused by injuryas well as preparing the body for more optimal performance and recovery.
Medical Massage: Medical massage is performed with the intent of improving conditions or pathologies that have been diagnosed by a physician; a wide variety of modalities or procedures are utilized to focus the treatment based on the diagnosed condition.
Neuromuscular/Trigger Point Therapy: Trigger points are hypersensitive areas within a muscle band that can cause pain and even refer pain to other parts of the body. Neuromuscular therapy aims to dissipate these areas and stop the pain cycle that trigger points perpetuate.
Prenatal and Postnatal Massage: Prenatal massage can be done during all three trimesters of pregnancy (yes, even the first trimester). Postnatal massage generally refers to the six or so weeks after giving birth. Prenatal massage is safe for nearly all women, but please consult your doctor prior to scheduling a session if you have a history of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, or a history of miscarriage.
Aromatherapy Massage: Aromatherapy massage uses essential oils blended with a base massage oil to aid specific ailments the client may have such as stress, headaches, injuries, inflammation, etc. (Aromatherapy can be defined as the art and science of utilizing aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It is a natural, non-invasive modality designed to affect the whole person not just the symptom or disease.)
